Why You’re Exhausted (And Why Wine Isn’t Fixing It)

You built this life from scratch. So why does it feel like something’s missing?

I used to tell myself that as soon as I finished this one last project—then I’d slow down.

As soon as I hit this next milestone—then I’d take a break.
As soon as I had more time—then I’d finally figure out what I really wanted.

Except that time never came.

Because I didn’t have a time problem. I had a hustle problem.

And every night, as I poured myself another glass of wine (or 3), I told myself it was fine.
That this was my “self-care.”
That I deserved this.

I wasn’t a “problem drinker.”
I wasn’t out of control.
I was just a little too exhausted to deal with myself.

Why We Think Wine (or Netflix or Self-Care) Will Fix It

High-achieving women don’t burn out the way people think they do.

They just … disappear.

  • They slowly lose their spark—things that used to light them up feel exhausting now.

  • They go through the motions, still crushing it on the outside, but feeling numb inside.

  • They overload on “self-care”, hoping that a massage or a vacation will fix what’s broken.

  • They pour another glass of wine, scroll for another 30 minutes, or binge another Netflix show—because it’s easier than facing the question they don’t want to ask:

"What if I don’t actually love the life I worked so hard to create?"

Why Wine Isn’t the Solution

Here’s the truth: Wine isn’t helping you relax.

It’s helping you numb out.

It’s taking the edge off just enough that you can tolerate the life you’re living—without actually changing anything.

Because here’s what’s really happening when you pour that first (or second) glass:

🚩 It’s postponing the inevitable. That moment when you have to confront the deep restlessness inside you—the feeling that something is off.
🚩 It’s keeping you from clarity. Alcohol dulls your emotions, but your emotions are trying to tell you something. (And the next morning, they come back louder.)
🚩 It’s making exhaustion normal. If you need wine every night just to decompress, that’s not normal—it’s a warning sign.

The problem isn’t the wine.
The problem is what the wine is keeping you from facing.

So What’s the Real Answer?

You don’t need another productivity hack.
You don’t need another “self-care Sunday.”
And you definitely don’t need another glass of wine.

What you do need is a radical shift in how you operate.

This is exactly what I’ll be breaking down in an upcoming free live masterclass.

We’re going to talk about:
🔥 Why high-achieving women struggle to slow down—even when they know they need to.
🔥 How to know if you’re addicted to hustle (hint: if you can’t answer this one question, you probably are).
🔥 The simple shift that will free up your energy, bring clarity, and make you feel alive again.
